P.H.VISHWANATH BACK IN ACTION

One of the prominent directors of Kannada cinema known for quality films and winner of state awards P.H.Vishwanath is returning back with a children film ‘Kinnara Bale’….the God Mother. The story for PHV’s film is based on the Smt.Janaki Sundareshan novel’s one of the chapters ‘Annichcha’.

Starting his career in the camp of doyen of Kannada cinema SR Puttanna Kanagal ‘Paduvarahalli Pandavaru’ PHV worked as assistant director in Dharmasere, Ranganayaki and Manasa Sarovara of Puttannaji and later in the camp of TS Nagabharana ‘Ashpota’ he spread his wings as assistant director.

PHV independent direction ‘Panchamaveda’ in 1989-90 bagged three state awards given him applauds in the media. ‘Aragini’ on Devadasi system played by Sudharani and Ramesh also received three state awards in different categories. Srigandha. Munjane Manju, Rangoli, Olave are the other Kannada films of Vishwanath. The last film he directed was ‘Olave’.

‘Kinnara Bale’ is also produced by PHV Vishwanath. Manjunath the old timer is the cameraman. The first schedule of shooting will take place at Bhatkal. ‘I need the slum background and fishermen community’ is the reason to shoot in Bhatkal says PHV. Baby Madhusri and Baby Shreya are playing the lead roles and there not much of work for grey haired persons.

In the last four years PHV had directed some documentaries and banked on a comfortable living on agriculture. I had offers to direct from Gandhinagar but my comfort zone in life made me to make a choice of my own subject says Vishwanath.
